1. About ScammedMe.in
ScammedMe.in is a user-generated content platform that allows individuals to report suspected scam activities. We operate as an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India). We do not create, verify, or endorse any reports submitted by users. All reports reflect the personal views and experiences of the individuals who submitted them.
2. User Responsibilities
By submitting a report, you confirm that: (a) all information is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, (b) you have personal experience with the scam, (c) submitting false reports may result in legal action against you, (d) you are solely responsible for the content of your report, and (e) you consent to the report being published publicly.
3. No Guarantee of Accuracy
ScammedMe.in does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any report. While we attempt to verify reports through screenshots and other evidence, we cannot independently confirm every claim. Users should use their own judgment when relying on information found on this platform.
4. Intermediary Status
ScammedMe.in functions as an intermediary as defined under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We do not initiate transmissions, select receivers, or modify information submitted by users. We claim protection under Section 79 of the IT Act and comply with the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
5. Dispute and Takedown
If you believe a report about you is false or defamatory, you have the right to dispute it. Visit our Dispute Policy page. We review disputes within 72 hours.
6. Prohibited Content
Users must not submit reports that: (a) contain knowingly false information, (b) are intended to harass or defame someone, (c) include personal information of minors, (d) contain hate speech, obscenity, or threats, or (e) violate any applicable Indian law. We reserve the right to remove any violating content.
7. Limitation of Liability
ScammedMe.in, its founders, and team shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or legal claims arising from the use of this platform or reliance on any report. Users submit and access reports at their own risk.
8. Content License
By submitting a report, you grant ScammedMe.in a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish and display the report. You retain ownership but agree it may be displayed publicly. We may redact personal details to protect reporter identity.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.
